We are located
in the Marlborough Sounds, which is at the very top
of the South Island of New Zealand. Our exact location is
in Rimu Gully, which is a small-secluded valley 4 kms
from the settlement of Rai Valley on SH 6. Rimu Gully
is off the main road out to the famous French Pass
and D'urville Island.
The Rai Valley and
Rimu Gully, well sheltered from any southerly and easterly
weather, are situated halfway between Blenheim and
Nelson - reported by the New Zealand Met Service as
regularly having the most sunshine hours in the country.
Driving Directions from Nelson
We are 40 minutes drive from Nelson - so you follow SH6 heading towards Blenheim, out of Nelson. You will go into the hills for about 30 minutes, you come down from the hills and see the Rai Valley signs, then on your left before you get to the village you will see a sign and turn off to French Pass, take this turn off. Mudbrick is 5km from this turn off, signposted at each turn. You take the first right over the Bridge, next right, then first left and head up the valley. You hit gravel road, keep going and then Mudbrick is at the end on your right. (watch out for cows! If its milking time they may be on the road, they are used to cars and you can just drive slowly through them.)

We are 40 minutes drive from Blenheim - so you follow SH6 heading towards Nelson. You will go through the valleys for about 20 minutes, you come to Havelock - and keep going towards Nelson. You will cross a one lane bridge (Pelorus) and you are about 10 minutes away. You will see Rai Valley signs, You will pass through a small settlement, it has houses, a petrol station, pub, takeaways and trading store, keep following SH6, just after the village on your right you will see a sign and turn off to French Pass, take this turn off. Mudbrick is 5km from this turn off, signposted at each turn. You take the first right over the Bridge, next right, then first left and head up the valley. You hit gravel road, keep going and then Mudbrick is at the end on your right. (watch out for cows!
